About Me
I am a Mexican-American, first-generation college graduate, and passionate professional counselor with six years of experience working with adolescents ages 15-22 in suburban, urban, and international settings. I seek to optimize processes to meet clients where they are and provide resources to get them to the next level.
I plan to grow my contributions to both the counseling and education fields in various ways. Firstly, as a high school counselor I believe I am uniquely positioned to understand adolescents' current challenges and utilize family therapy techniques for a systemic approach to treatment. Given my own struggles navigating the American education system, I am passionate about teaching students how to develop self-awareness and self-advocacy skills as well as a growth mindset to fuel their future success.
Outside of work, I enjoy at-home workouts, traveling, quality time with my husband, and attending live concerts especially to dance swing and salsa with friends. I also love listening to audiobooks and podcasts. I'm currently reading Finding Me by Viola Davis.
